Background: Her doting father, a man who trained her to protect herself, raised Mine. Taught her several fighting styles and disciplines. Training her to someday take his place as a gang leaderthe leader of the gang. A ruthless group of paid-killers and trained assassins based in Kugane. She loved her upbringing and her father. All she knew about her mother was that she was a young xaela, dropped Mine off at her fathers’ doorstep 10 months after a night during a spring festival, saying that she couldn’t raise her. The woman was from a tribe somewhere in the steppe, and that was that. The only thing she had of her mother was the ability to create fire, her own aether bathed in it. But weakened to small tricks.When Mine was 18, she left home to seek answers about her mother. During her ventures across the Azim Steppe she met many tribes, each with their own traditions and values. One particular tribe caught her off guard, the chief’s son took a liking to her, and toldtold his tribe that she was the maiden who would birth a strong heir. Kidnapping her and forcing her into a marriage and six years of endless torture. Being forced to breed with every male in the tribe until she bore a child, destroying her body each time a moon cycle was missed.She was able to escape during a tribal war, and ran back to Kugane. Running straight back to her father, only to find the building was being used as a cleaning company run by her old friend Fey. A few years her senior, this crazy-ass xaela loved the dead, loved to experiment, and would clean up murder scenes and dispose of bodies so she could continue her love of such things. Crazy but a genius in chemistry with the potions and tonics this woman would come up with. Fey worked for Mine’s father when she first came to the area, and soon became the woman to come to for such things and now has her own business with a medical centre cover. Mine learned that her father passed away about 3 years prior to her return of heartbreak. They held a funeral and memorial for them both, the gang thinking that Mine had died when they couldn’t find her.She decided to stay with Fey for a few more years, learning her trade and helping run the business. However, her life at the steppe caught up with her as she spotted one of the males from the tribe during a walk to the market and unfortunately she was spotted. That's when young Raen went into hiding. She changed her name, appearance and demeanour. She was no longer just Mine, but Enid Bane.She spent a few years in hiding. Travelling from tavern to tavern around Ul’dah, she spent her evenings reading peoples’ fortunes and telling them their true love is just around the corner. During one night when she was doing her tarot, two mercenaries came to her table. They were not there for a reading, but to kill her. Sent to her from her ex-husband, Abara, the now chief. During their scrap, she killed one and sent the other back to the xaela male with an invitation to come get her himself. When he arrived in a clearing on the border between Thanalan and The Black Shroud, she met him head on with her machete, no longer bearing the Enid facade but as her old self. As Mine Rose. The Raen with fire in her veins. She killed Abara and his men. The adrenaline of the kill, the thrill of it snapped something inside of her. She wanted more. She was now free. Free from looking over her shoulder and free to be Mine once more.Years passed peacefully, Mine used her new love of blood and the skills taught to her by her father to become a freelance assassin with ties in a few places but not exclusive to one. She visited her sister Fey frequently, either for new poisons, to be healed or to be a victim to her experiments, either way she loved this time.Until one day, her past came back to haunt her. Abara’s tribesmen tracked her down to Fey’s Apothecary. An attack occurred that resulted in Mine burying her friend behind the burnt down building, crawling half-way across the map to the Thanalan sands. Her father’s voice carried her home, picking her up every time she fell. She was in a coma for 10 days, fighting with her own mind. Battling shame and defeat after losing her remaining family. Her fathers’ voice haunting her to pull herself together. Mine woke with a slap to her face by a small female Xaela. One who had not died, but rose from her grave and had followed the Raen. Fey.Fast forward to today, Mine continues her work as an assassin with a reputation that is second to none. Small print in the contracts to blame. She has a horrible gambling habit, but she has to have some flaws.
